Q: How do I wash my new kandle kidswear shirt or onesie?
A: Turn the shirt inside-out before washing to protect the felt pieces. Then machine wash cold and tumble dry low (or line dry to do your part to save the world and pretty up your yard while it is hanging out to dry!). The shirts have been tested in the wash at kandle kidswear world headquarters (our laundry room!) numerous times, and hold up great to the rigors of everyday washing and drying.

Q: The shirts look cream-colored in the pictures on the website. What color are they?
A: All of our designs are sewn on unbleached, organic cotton shirts and onesies that are made in the USA. The shirts are the delicious, creamy color of natural cotton.

Q: Why does kandle kidswear use organic cotton shirts and onesies?
A: Laura and Kim (aka kandle kidswear) are both fond of helping out the environment in their own small way. We also feel strongly about protecting our own children from harmful pesticides, and why not protect other little ones as well? You can also feel good that the soft, 100% organic cotton shirts are made right here in the USA.

Q: Is the felt on your shirts made of earth-friendly materials?
A: Yes! We are proud to use felt that is made of 100% post-consumer recycled PET bottles. The felt is also solution dyed, which means that the color is encapsulated in the fiber during the manufacturing process, with no dye runoff into our water system. How great is that?

Q: Are your shirts sewn by hand?
A: We use our trusty sewing machines for the most part, but some small pieces (like the dinosaur's eye) are sewn by hand. While we use design templates to cut the felt pieces, our process means that each shirt or onesie is unique . . . no two are exactly alike!

Q: The floppy designs are cute, but will my child be able to pull off the parts that are not sewn down?
A: For added fun and dimensionality, many of our designs include felt pieces that "flop around" freely, such as the Cowboy Dinosaur's spikes. While the shirts are not indestructible, it is unlikely that your child could pull the parts off without pliers or scissors!

Q: Do the bright colors of the felt bleed onto the light shirts in the wash?
A: All of our felt is pre-washed to prevent this problem. We also recommend washing on cold. Remember, all our shirts have been tested in the wash at kandle kidswear world headquarters (our laundry room!) numerous times, and hold up great to the rigors of everyday washing and drying.

Q: How did you come up with the name "kandle kidswear?"
A: Good question! We were trying to come up with a new name for our new business, and we started out with the basics (i.e., not very creative!) . . . K & L (for the initials of our first names, Kim and Laura). After we said it a few times out loud, we thought it sounded kind of like "candle." "Hmmm . . . that is kind of catchy!" we thought. And here we are: kandle kidswear (that's kandle with a "k").

Q: Who designed this awesome website?
A: Kim is so lucky to have a design guru and computer whiz as a husband, and he generously donated his time and creativity to make kandle kidswear this fabulous website to peddle our wares. Yes, he is for hire, but he only works free for us! Contact him at totrod@sbcglobal.net.
